Dr. Bazian began his anti-Israel activity on campus in the 1980’s, while a student at San Francisco State University, where he reportedly helped foment a “palpable climate of hate” which contributed to an increase in anti-Semitic incidents, with Jewish students on campus complaining about his “unbridled anti-Semitism.”[1] As a graduate student at UC Berkeley, Dr. Bazian headed the local MSA, a Muslim Brotherhood (MB) affiliated organization. He also co-founded the Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) while at Berkeley in 2001.

In 2011, Bazian led a national speaking tour called ‘Never Again For Anyone’ benefiting the anti-Israel organization Middle East Children’s Alliance (MECA), the purpose of which was to link the Holocaust and the Arab-Israeli conflict, with Israelis cast as the new Nazis and “Never Again” transformed into the new Palestinian rallying cry. The tour intentionally coincided with International Holocaust Remembrance Day. Bazian has called for an intifada in America and blames Islamic terrorism on Israel.[2]

In September 2016, it was reported that Dr. Bazian would serve as the faculty sponsor of an upcoming “anti-Zionism” course to be taught at UC Berkeley, entitled “Palestine: A Settler Colonial Analysis.” According to a co-founder of the AMCHA Initiative, which combats, monitors and documents anti-Semitism on campuses across America, “this is clear eliminationist anti-Zionism, which is not criticism of Israel, but opposition to the existence of the Jewish state with efforts to eliminate that state.” Furthermore, they noted “not one reading or guest lecturer isn’t a virulent anti-Zionist, absolutely opposed to the existence of the state of Israel and supporter of the BDS movement.”[3]
