Dr Todd Couch is Assistant Professor of Sociology and Criminology at Coker College in South Carolina and has a wide variety of research interests including a current work that examines the relationship between firearms and racial groups.

Students have complained about racist comments that Couch is alleged to have said that include that that “racial oppression is central to the founding fathers’ philosophy” :

“So when we have the Founders writing this document, they said the only reason they wanted to establish this Constitution the way they did is because they said they refused to be slaves to Europe, meaning that they knew how [offensive] slavery was, however, they were willing to guarantee the enslavement of another group of people.”

Other complaints of racism initiated by students include allegations that “Only white men can be racist” and that “White men created race. They’re the ones to be targeted.”
