Prof. Fellman has established a reputation of espousing anti-American and anti-Israel opinions. He was a signatory to a divestment petition from the Teachers Insurance and Annuity Association of America (TIAA-CREF) participants, and distributed by JVP.
Fellman was also one of the co-creators of a Brandeis Faculty ListServ that was leaked to the public, titled, “Concerned.” It would regularly feature articles supporting BDS and accusing Israel of war crimes against Palestinians. In one message on the ListServ, Prof. Fellman “urged Israeli academics to sign an open letter to end the illegal occupation of Palestine.” The message goes on to note “that an atmosphere of hysteria is being deliberately provoked in Israel, and whole communities are being subjected to collective punishment, a war crime.”
Furthermore, Fellman shared an article suggesting that “the Boston bombers were not motivated by an Arab supremacist anti-American doctrine of Islamism, but instead alienation, poverty, and despair driven by the cruel anti-immigration policies of both Presidents Bush and Obama.
