Prof. Jameson is a long time and well-known Marxist and practitioner of radical theory. He supports the BDS movement through his participation in Duke Divest, an anti-Israel group comprising students and teachers at Duke.  A petition drafted by the group, and signed by Jameson, claims to be “appalled by the human rights abuses against Palestinians at the hand of the Israeli government,” while denouncing the, “continual military occupation and colonization of Palestinian territory by Israeli armed forces and settlers.”[1]

He also published an article in 2002 wherein he argued that “the history of the [American] superstate is as bloody as anyone else’s national history.”[2]
